About the Levantine Heritage
Bournabat (modern Bornova) was home to prominent Levantine families including the Girauds, Edwards, Whittalls, Forbes, Rees, Patersons, and Charnauds, who shaped the cultural landscape of Smyrna during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Their mansions, gardens, and community buildings are documented through archival photographs and historical maps.
